Corey Reardon, President & CEO, AWA Alexander Watson Associates

Corey Reardon, AWA Alexander Watson Associates Corey Michael Reardon was born in Cleveland, Ohio, USA, and graduated from the University of Cincinnati, Ohio in Marketing and Strategic Planning with a specialization in Strategy and Implementation, and the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, Illinois, in Industrial Marketing.

He began his career in 1985 in Corporate Planning with McGill Manufacturing Co, Valparaiso, Indiana, and then joined Rexam Release (then H P Smith) in Chicago, Illinois in a product management role. He subsequently held various marketing and business development roles in the company, with an emphasis on developing the company's business in release liner sales in the self-adhesive (pressure-sensitive) industry. His increasingly international role led to his relocation to Brussels, Belgium, to establish a European co-ordination center, and to develop the company's interests in Asia. In 1995, he was appointed Director of Marketing and Sales for Rexam Release's European operations, and relocated to The Netherlands - where he now has his home.

In January 1997, Corey joined the Netherlands-based Fasson Roll Division of the Avery Dennison Corporation - world-leading manufacturers of self-adhesive materials - as Marketing Director for Europe, with responsibility for marketing and business development in the whole of EMEA. In September 1999, Corey Reardon acquired UK-based Alexander Watson Associates, a long-established and internationally-respected market research and marketing consultancy specializing in the packaging, coating, converting, and printing industries.

As Principal of AWA Alexander Watson Associates BV, now headquartered in Amsterdam, Corey brings his 20 years' experience of these industries to bear on the execution of private market and business development studies for individual companies in the industry, as well as a series of multi-client market reports.



Tom Erickson, Plant Superintendent, The Label Printers

Tom Erickson, The Label Printers Tom Erickson is the Plant Superintendent at The Label Printers, Aurora IL and has been employed there for over twelve years. 2013 marks Tom's thirtieth year in the label and packaging industry which includes roots in press operation of flexo, digital, hot stamp, and letterpress. Tom currently manages all production and maintenance at both The Label Printers plants.




Lawrence Gamblin, President, Collins Ink Corporation

Lawrence Gamblin, Collins Ink Corporation  Mr. Gamblin is the principle owner and President of Collins Ink which he founded in 1990 in a garage under the Manhattan bridge. This June marks the 30th anniversary of his start in the inkjet industry.

In 1982 he started making inkjet ink as President of a small start]up, Bradford Chemical. Except for a two year period when he returned to Columbia University, where he earned an MBA and an MS in Operations Research, he has been running one of two inkjet ink companies. Both companies focused on inks for high]speed industrial printing. If he has any expertise it is in inkjet inks where he has done everything from formulating and manufacturing inks, to forging relationships with customers and equipment manufacturers.



Victor Gomez, VP of Sales, N. & S. America, Durst Image Technology US

Victor Gomez, Durst Mr. Gomez is responsible for narrow web print segment in the US and Canada for Durst US. Durst is a European manufacturer of industrial digital printing equipment. Its narrow web product line includes the Durst Tau 330 13" wide UV ink jet digital label press.

Based in Albany, NY, Mr. Gomez began his career with Durst in 1999. He was born in Peru and attended a French primary school. Mr. Gomez became US citizen in 1976 and obtained his Master's degree from Columbia University in NY, BA from Vassar College.



David Gustafson, Product Manager, VIP Films, UPM Raflatac

David Gustafson, UPM Raflatac BS Degree in Polymer Science Engineering from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH; Nearly 23 years of pressuresensitive and relatedindustry experience, including Avery Dennison, Spinnaker Coating, Wausau Paper and UPM Raflatac; served in various technical and marketing roles with a primary focus on Variable Information Printing Applications involving films.



Lou Iovoli, V.P. Strategic Partnerships & Marketing, Hammer Packaging Corporation

Lou Iovoli, Hammer Packaging Lou has been with Hammer Packaging for 18 years serving in a variety of positions over his tenure. Prior to Hammer Packaging Lou worked with International Paper for 11 years straight out of college.

Lou has a Bachelor's Degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology and a Master's of Business from Syracuse University.

One of Lou's current roles is on analyzing national opportunities; identifying how most efficiently to spread the work across a variety of assets and prepare a pricing proposal based on realistic production plans.




Kirit Naik, Product Manager Prime Films, UPM Raflatac

Dr. Kirit Naik, UPM Raflatac Kirit Naik serves as Product Manager, Prime Films for UPM Raflatac Americas. Prior to joining UPM Raflatac in 2008, Kirit accumulated over 14 years of industry experience as a highly qualified and technically proficient Product Development Manager with an outstanding record of accomplishments.

Kirit graduated from South Gujarat University with a PhD in organic-analytical chemistry. He also holds a Master of Science in Organic Chemistry from South Gujarat University and an Executive MBA from Cleveland State University. He has extensive experience in commercializing wide format digital ink-jet media for water-based, mild solvent-based, UV-based and solvent-based ink-jet printers. He was also involved in the development and commercialization of a first-to-market substrate for mild solvent-based, wide format printers.

Kirit is a Six Sigma Green Belt, and throughout his career, he has been the recipient of several awards, including leadership excellence, individual and team excellence and outstanding achievement. Kirit also has 16 U.S. patents issued.

Kirit enjoys playing tennis and cricket as well as traveling and exploring new things. He and his wife reside in Asheville, North Carolina, with their daughter and son.



Tom Roetker, Vice President of Engineering, Memjet Labels

Tom Roetker, Memjet Labels Tom Roetker is Vice President of Engineering at Memjet Labels. He has worked for 5 years at Memjet on Print head, engine and ink development focused on label and industrial printing markets. In addition, Mr. Roetker has wired for 17 years at Hewlett Packard where he worked in printing technology. His work at Hewlett Packard included Printer product development for consumer all in ones, scanner development, and wide format printing products.

He has a breadth of technology experience in Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Optics, Scanning, and ink development.



Sean Skelly, VP and General Manager, EFI Jetrion

Sean Skelly, EFI Jetrion Mr. Sean Skelly is the Vice President and General Manager of EFI, Jetrion, a business that is leading the transformation of the label and packaging industry from analog to digital printing. Mr. Skelly was one of Jetrion's founders and has been a director on its executive management team since the Company's establishment in 2003, playing a variety of critical roles in its emergence as the leader in digital label and packaging printing. EFI acquired Jetrion in 2006, and Mr. Skelly joined EFI at that time as Jetrion's Director of Marketing and Service. Prior to Jetrion, he worked at the Eastman Kodak Company for 17 years in a broad range of imaging areas, including business unit management, product development, research, manufacturing, and information technology. He received an MS in Computer Integrated Manufacturing from the Rochester Institute of Technology and a BA in Math/Computer Science from New York University.



Andy Scherz, Sr. Product Manager, Epson America

 Andy Scherz, Epson America Andrew V. Scherz is a Senior Product Manager at Epson tasked with developing the market for on demand industrial color label printers. Andy is a veteran of the industrial label printing market with over 17 years' experience most recently at Epson and before that at Printronix as Director of Product Marketing. Earlier, Scherz founded Pacific Intesys Inc., an automated electronic patient medical-record system for hospitals and doctor offices. He also managed design engineering for Die Bold Inc., which developed online transaction systems for financial tracking and security authorization. Scherz began his career at Beckman Instruments as a test engineer working on instrumentation systems. He holds a bachelor's of science in electrical engineering and a master's in business administration, both from California State University, Long Beach.



Dr. Dene Taylor, President, Specialty Papers & Films, Inc (SPF-Inc)

Dr. Dene Taylor, SPF Dr. Dene Taylor entered the paper industry with Union Camp in Princeton, New Jersey. At Mead Research in Chillicothe OH he led coating and calendaring research for premium offset papers. In 1987, at the birth of wide format digital imaging, he was invited to join James River Graphics to develop papers and films specifically for digital imaging and photographic reproduction. JRG (later Rexam graphics) was the nursery for many media developments and new applications for inkjet, electrostatic and laser printing. 16 years ago he joined Dunmore Corp. in Newtown, Pennsylvania as VP Product Development. Dunmore produces a diverse range of coated and laminated products for the label, decorative, insulation, automotive and aerospace markets. 2000 saw the founding of Specialty Papers & Films, Inc., (SPF-Inc) a consulting company supporting the manufacturing and use of specialty substrates in diverse applications.
SPF-Inc has become increasingly involved in digital printing - current assignments include developing systems for industrial applications, improving substrates printability, supporting ink formulation improvements, and assembling supply chains for sophisticated packaging and packaged products.

Dene has an MSc from the University of Auckland and a PhD in colloid chemistry from the University of Waikato, both in New Zealand. He has over 25 patents, many relating to digital printing. His regular column "On Print" is published by PFFC-Online.
